A Swift Gaze In The Sgr1900+14's (Burst) Forest
Abstract
On March 2006 the Soft Gamma-ray Repeater SGR1900+14 went back in action. In particular, Swift observed the source several times to monitor its bursting activity, its timing and spectral properties. I will report on the spectacular event recorded on 29th March when Swift was pointing at the source. More than 20 short bursts were detected both by BAT and by XRT and data were used to perform time-resolved spectroscopy in the 1-100keV range. Among other results, the magnetar model predictions were tested over an unprecedented range of fluxes and with large statistics.
